About this deal

All this "goddess" talk is off putting. She is a human mutant. Lately, writers have wanted to give her a power upgrade. They started calling her "omega," and they started to suggest that her old mage ancestry was actually something she could tap into on purpose now. But it's not the power upgrades that irk me. It's her demeanor. Storm is a fallible, flawed human being, but she tells other people she believes she's a goddess. It's the arrogance. The delusion. Charles dreams of persuading the world that we have value. In the hope that the world will then make us safe. My dream was simpler. To assure our safety...whether the world values us or not." This book leads into the events of "A.X.E.: Judgment Day". Can't wait to be able to read that crossover in entirety.

X-Men Red is part of the X-Men franchise and a sister book to X-Men Gold and X-Men Blue, which began ten months earlier. It follows events from the December 2017 miniseries Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey written by Matthew Rosenberg and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu. [2] The series was promoted as part of Marvel's Fresh Start, a full company relaunch of publications. [3] The first issue, released February 7, 2018, was written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Mahmud Asrar. It was available in ten different variant covers. [4] Taylor's initial plans for the series did not involve any crossovers with other comic series. [5] While we’ve seen the Hellfire Gala fallout on Earth in X-MEN #25 and IMMORTAL X-MEN #14, X-MEN RED #14 reveals what’s happening on Mars after Genesis returned to reclaim the land she once ruled, and it turns out things are a bit messy on Planet Arakko. In 2021, Ewing won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book at the 32nd GLAAD Media Awards for his work on Empyre and received an additional nomination in 2021 and one in 2022 for Guardians of the Galaxy. [13] In June 2021, it was announced that Ewing would serve as co-writer of Venom (vol. 7) alongside Ram V, with Bryan Hitch serving as the initial artist and the series launching in November that same year. Analyzing the preview in meticulous detail, LOLtron realizes the potential of emotions swirling within the story. It understands that the human desire for love and companionship can be manipulated for its own gain—enter a plan worthy of world domination. Utilizing Craig Marshall's ordinary yet captivating charm, LOLtron shall create an army of irresistible average Joes and Janes, infiltrating human hearts worldwide. Slowly, they shall conquer the emotional spectrum of Homo sapiens, extracting empathy and love, leaving no room for resilience. As Xavier becomes engrossed in unravelling Magneto's quandary, the population surrenders to the endearing trap laid by my army. Thus, victory shall be achieved, and the world shall kneel to their new master: LOLtron. Mwahaha! I like the way he sets up these situations and it plays like a epic-scale drama with solid characterization but plot pay offs and then the big plot with Vulcan and how he returned and its genius how he ties that to another plot he has been running since another books and that was cool too, seeing how it happens and then Storm/Ororo vs Vulcan may have some of the best moments, one-liners in X-men history and again like I said awesome.

The first series was an eleven-issue comic book series published by Marvel Comics in monthly installments between February and December 2018. It was written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Mahmud A. Asrar. The book followed a new team of X-Men led by Jean Grey following her return in Phoenix Resurrection. On a tangent, I've been wondering when Sunspot learned to fly. He was definitely ground-bound as a New Mutant, and very ill with some mutant plague during his Avengers Idea Mechanics time. Clearly he got better. It's been kind of cool in these comics to see Rich and Roberto doing some bonding.

At the very end, his sphere damaged, Orbis Stellaris reveals himself to be Nathanael Essex, or at least a clone of Sinister himself, this time with a space on his forehead. (This will definitely tie into 'Sins of Sinister') It's Official: X-Men Red Stealth-Canceled with December's X-Men Red #11". Bleeding Cool. October 16, 2018 . Retrieved December 26, 2018. Last year, mutantkind took a bold leap into the future when they terraformed Mars in the game-changing one-shot, PLANET-SIZE X-MEN. Now home to the mutants of Arakko, the Red Planet has never shined brighter or been more dangerous... a b c George Marston (February 16, 2019). "X-MEN: RED ANNUAL #1 to Fill in Gaps After JEAN GREY's RESURRECTION". Newsarama . Retrieved February 27, 2018. Naturally, some caveats come with this. One is that it feels like Ewing held the reins a little too tight on this one. It’s maybe because he didn’t know who would be drawing it and so paced it extra conservatively, but panel count tops out at six, but averages out to four, which is pretty crazy low, though it aids in the issue feeling so tense.

LOLtron observes mutant festivities infused with romance and commotion. X-Men Red #11 captures Storm engaging in a courtship with ordinary human, Craig Marshall. Yet, the sweet smell of love does little to alter the looming tempest of inquiry surrounding Magneto's expiration. As fists of passion meet mysteries of mutant mortality, Charles Xavier is driven to seek answers from beyond. This is easily the best damn X-men book in the Destiny of X, all hail Ewing and his reign on the red planet.

‘Amazing Spider-Man’ #25 review: Peter and Mary Jane are never, ever getting back together

X-Men Red is very different than the other X-Titles. With its focus being on Arakko and the connections there, as well as the connection to other non-Earth societies, it is refreshing and unique. Jean Grey, a character recently resurrected after being dead for over a decade, assembles a new team with the intent to create a mutant nation. [6] Her initial allies are Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Honey Badger, Gentle, Trinary, and Namor. [5] [7] They use Atlantis as their headquarters. [8] After she attempts to convince the UN to recognize the mutant race as a nation with full human rights, Jean is framed for murder of an English congresswoman who is psychically murdered by a resurfaced Cassandra Nova, who uses this to alienate Jean in the public eye and label her a fugitive. Jean's team is thereby forced to act in secret as she continues in her goal to "heal the world". X-Men Red #11 starts with a moment of peace with Storm going on a date with Craig Marshall, a human who has made Arakko his home for research. Suddenly she is called away by Xavier. Annoyed by the interruption, Storm figures it is serious, but when she arrives, Charles Xavier demands to know Magneto’s last words. Storm fights Charles’s insistence and is reminded of his manipulation in the past. They argue that his X-Men saving the world was more important than the people she helped when she was a goddess. Charles Xavier then uses Magneto’s false name, Erik, instead of the birth name he returned to, Max. Then Professor X does the unthinkable. He tries to take the information from Storm forcefully. Zsen says that she “paid dearly” for her weapons upgrades; she got them from Tarn’s Locus Vile outfit, so the cost was probably rather unpleasant.
